Cookies and Device Storage

Last updated: October 2026

The short version

We don’t use cookies, advertising trackers or third-party analytics, so there’s no cookie banner to click through. When you browse, nothing is stored on your device. If you sign in, we keep one small item so you stay signed in. That’s it.

1. What we store on your device

The law (the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and GDPR) lets websites store information that is strictly necessary for a service you ask for without asking first. Both items below are strictly necessary, and neither is used to track you.

ingress_auth_tokenStrictly necessary
Purpose
Keeps you signed in to your account while you use the site.
Set
Only after you sign in
Stored in
Local storage
How long
Removed when you sign out; the token itself stops working after 15 minutes.
ingress_visit_counting_offStrictly necessary
Purpose
Remembers that you asked not to be counted.
Set
Only if you switch visit counting off below
Stored in
Local storage
How long
Until you switch counting back on or clear your browser data.

2. Anonymous visit counting

To understand which pages are useful and which links bring people here, our own server keeps daily totals: the page, how many times it was viewed that day, and where visitors came from (the referring website or a campaign tag in the link, such as utm_source). Nothing is stored on your device to do this, and we don’t record your IP address, browser details or any identifier, so the totals can’t be linked to you. If you buy something, the same source and campaign are kept with the order so we know which channels work.

We don’t count you at all if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. You can also switch it off here:

Anonymous visit counting

On — your page views are added to our daily totals.

3. Other websites we send you to

Some actions take you to another company’s website, which has its own cookie rules. We don’t control those cookies and can’t read them.

  • Stripe — when you check out, payment happens on Stripe’s secure page, which uses cookies to process payment and prevent fraud. Stripe’s cookie policy
  • Microsoft — if you or your IT team approve SecondSight for your organisation, you sign in on Microsoft’s page. Microsoft’s privacy statement
  • Apple App Store — “View on the App Store” links open Apple’s website or app. Apple’s privacy policy

Our pages don’t load scripts, fonts or images from other companies while you browse.

4. Removing stored information

Signing out removes the sign-in item. You can also clear this site’s data at any time in your browser’s settings (look for “site data” or “website data”); the site will keep working, and you’ll just need to sign in again.

5. Changes

If we ever want to use cookies or storage that aren’t strictly necessary, we’ll ask you first and won’t set them unless you agree. Any change will be listed on this page.
